Finally made it outside today. That is a hot tub back there in the corner. We got eight inches of snow probably and it drifts on our deck. Had to shove the door open to get my dog outside today. I have a fellow who shovels thank heavens. Not me. Pulled a muscle in my neck the last time I did it.
So it was a good day to make broccoli cheese soup. Pictures of mine tomorrow, I promise.
Observations on health: Another two weeks and I will head off to Florida for a month–the biggest plus to that is I will get some sun exposure. My body does not work right on vitamin D supplements and just about now, every February, I seem to melt down. One more week and I’ll have my lipids and vitamin D and c-reactive protein, homocysteine levels repeated, so I will post a full health update soon. I haven’t lost any more weight since returning to keto–I’ve gained a pound or so.
I was just reading Mark Sisson’s article on keto and cholesterol. He acknowledges it has not been studied properly, but in the meantime if I am one of those whose cholesterol sky-rocketed, it’s worth addressing in the meantime. I sure hope they study this fat issue and keto diet more carefully. When all your other numbers come in line, no metabolic syndrome, but cholesterol goes up, it’s perplexing and not sure what to make of it.
But this weekend, I will visit my daughter, my son-in-law, and my grandson John Michael in Green Bay. There appears finally to be a lull in the forecast and we are off Friday noon!
Broccoli cheese soup with bacon and green onions tonight.
Dreams: I dreamed I was running or riding a horse in a figure-eight clover-leaf pattern and my father interrupted me for some reason. Maybe because I looked like a nut. Dream was totally crazy.
