Religion– or the lack of it– has always posed problems for free societies. And there are two ways this happens. You should know, too, that I am a person who considers herself “spiritual” but has no use for organized religion for what seems like obvious reasons and would take a whole other post, but which makes me quite objective in this discussion.
I have a friend who can only see state sponsored religion as the problem. But he is not a very good student of history and obviously never took Russia under Stalin (as I did at Michigan State University in my late teens). Nor studied Karl Marx as I did there as well. State sponsored religion is a problem. Click here for countries which still have it and notice they mostly had it at 1900 already. I’ll see if I can insert a link with this new nightmare program. Who knows if this embedded link will work. But if not, you can study this on your own.
So obviously the United States’ First Amendment deals with “freedom of religion” which of course implies a separation of church and state. Our constitution, however, does not stipulate religion is not allowed in public life, just that ALL religions are allowed in public life. The leftist atheists have tried to exclude religion entirely from schools and any public venue, when the obvious thing to do was to allow minutes of silence for religions (or lack thereof) of all sorts.
So far, leftists messing in this hasn’t caused too much upheaval. The biggest obstacle to this dilemma was a poorly decided Roe V. Wade decision which was a disaster since the constitution clearly did not allow for such a thing and it should have been legislated, — abortion should not have been imposed (public money and more) by an un-elected body upon the American people. Activist courts have set the country up for a chasm divide over this issue alone. Abortion was always legal in certain states and unless legislated for should have remained a states issue.
But this is not the only way religion is used by the state (though atheists love to deny it). All you need to do is study Russia Under Stalin— or Hitler as his regime progressed and he moved away from religion — to see how atheism was used to control people–how Marxism and communism replaces worship of a higher power with “worship of the state.” And thus an individual as well.
Jordan Peterson writes about the dangers of this totalitarian thinking in his work — the rejection of customs and the slow erosion of them, which can lead to totalitarianism just as much as a violent overthrow of the government–which may be where we are anyway. He has of course been “crucified” by the left for obvious reasons–when he objected to forcing pronoun compliance on a people and warned of cancel culture–, when I am sure he would have considered himself a liberal or center leftist.
Atheists deny that it is the atheism that leads to Marxism or communism but it’s clearly part of Marxist doctrine and it has clearly been used in totalitarian societies. Stalin controlled both religion and the media. Take a look around here, folks, and watch what is being done. Who is controlling the media? That should be your first clue.
Now the United States has never ever been close to electing (or been in danger) of any kind of state sponsored religion. No leader has ever imposed personal religious views on this country (and the only possible interpretation of that are positions on Roe V Wade–a disastrously decided opinion that will likely remain in some form because of long-standing precedent decisions–a type of decision that should never again happen with activist judges. Just because the left can’t get legislation through of their choosing they appoint judges who do not interpret the constitution as written–as a result the court has become politicized and the balance of power between our three forms of government jeopardized–especially should they pack the court.)
But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the left is coming after religion, particularly those this country was founded on –Christian/ Judaeo principles. For some strange reason, they leave Muslims alone presently as they consider them a big new left voting block, but that will not remain for long. The progressive left governors are refusing to let churches and synagogues gather with the virus as excuse, while tolerating and even encouraging a Marxist socialist movement in the streets (disguised as racial unrest–if you don’t think so, be aware that Black Lives Matter removed their basic tenets of Marxism and the extinction of the nuclear family from their website). They only objected to it when the violence took a dive in the polls.
The left is using identity politics and attacks on Christians and Jews to set up a collective socialist society. They clearly worship the state, are imposing censorship and “cancellation” — firing and more — on anyone who disagrees with them. We better watch carefully here or we are about to go past a point of no return. Like him or not, Donald Trump is all that stands between us and a totalitarian nightmare and the end of the United States as we know it (which is why immigrants come here in droves).
At least that will no longer be a problem. Eh?
If you think I am exaggerating I’ll leave you with this idiot Keith Olbermann’s words, as recorded by The Blaze. and Donald TRUMP is the problem? (Obama opened the door to socialism and it is HE who divided this country–and then the left’s attempted coup when they refused to allow Trump to lead) And if you think Olbermann is the only one who thinks like this, think again:
Longtime sportscaster-turned-far-left-pundit-turned-sportscaster Keith Olbermann is a far-left pundit again, leaving ESPN for the fourth time in order to host a YouTube show dedicated to helping Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden defeat President Donald Trump in the election.
But Olbermann told his audience on Thursday that the battle extends far beyond Election Day, and called for the president and his supporters to be “prosecuted and convicted and removed from our society.”
What are the details?
Olbermann announced Tuesday that he would be leaving ESPN amicably in order to launch his new political show in an effort to impact the upcoming election.
During his second show that aired Thursday, Olbermann went on a tirade, declaring that “Trump can be, and must be, expunged. The hate he has triggered, Pandora’s boxes he has opened, they will not be so easily destroyed.”
“So, let us brace ourselves,” he continued, saying, “The task is two-fold: the terrorist Trump must be defeated, must be destroyed, must be devoured at the ballot box, and then he, and his enablers, and his supporters, and his collaborators, and the Mike Lees and the William Barrs, and Sean Hannitys, and the Mike Pences, and the Rudy Gullianis and the Kyle Rittenhouses and the Amy Coney Barretts must be prosecuted and convicted and removed from our society while we try to rebuild it and to rebuild the world Trump has destroyed by turning it over to a virus.”
